Pheu Thai to strike back at accuser over rule-undermining lawsuit

By Thai Newsroom Reporters

THE PHEU THAI PLANS TO file a countersuit against a lawyer activist who has unsuccessfully accused de facto Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra and the largest ruling party of taking action to undermine rule.

Chief government whip Wisut Chaiyanarun confirmed today (Nov. 23) the Pheu Thai headed by Thaksin’s daughter-turned-Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra will definitely file the countersuit against Thirayut Suwankesorn who filed accusations in court, albeit to no avail, that the billionaire power player and ruling party had perpetrated acts with design to undermine rule with the monarch as head of state.

Though the Constitutional Court has already lifted all charges lodged by the activist lawyer against Thaksin and his camp, the countersuit will certainly be filed against him sooner than later, Wisut said.

The chief government whip said the rule-undermining charges were considered too greatly exaggerated and vehement for the accuser to be forgiven by the accused, however.

The Pheu Thai legal mentor-cum-Prime Minister’s Office Minister Chusak Sirinil has been consulted over the looming legal battle and agreed to the party’s plan to strike back at him, the chief government whip said.
