NO less cute than world-famous baby pygmy hippo Moo Deng at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi is Moo Duang at Khon Kaen Zoo with there being a seven-kilometre-long traffic jam on Mitraphab road as tourists flocked to see this little one’s playful antics today (Oct. 13), Amarin TV said.
With today being His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great Memorial Day and tomorrow a substitution holiday, tourists thronged this zoo which is allowing children under 12 years of age or less than 135 cm tall and senior citizens over 60 years of age free entrance during the long weekend.
Large screens have been installed so that visitors can easily see adorable Moo Duang with the mother.
The zoo also brought four lion cubs, two male and two female, who are now almost three months old having been born on July 18 to eight-year-old Kanya and 14-year-old Body, to the exhibition area for viewing.
Mrs. Thippawadi Kittikun, director of Khon Kaen Zoo, said she would like tourists to come and see cute Moo Duang, who is Moo Deng’s nephew, as well as many other small and large animals all day long.
Activities have been arranged for tourists including taking photos with wild animal mascots and surprise boxes at the tourist service building. They also get to feed animals such as black bears, parrots, tigers, lions, deer of various species and elephants.
Moreover there are three daily shows by beloved seals at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
