iCon Group CEO Boss Paul shows up to testify

AMID mounting pressure from investors who complained to police that they had lost hundreds of thousands and up to millions of baht after investing in The iCon Group, the company’s CEO Mr. Woratphon Waratvorakul, or Boss Paul, today (Oct. 12) showed up at Consumer Protection Police headquarters to testify, Naewna and Thai Rath newspapers said.

Woratphon said he was sad to hear that people had lost their money and some have even died and came to meet the police to show that he is innocent and enter the justice procedure.

While admitting that he has come to clarify very late, he mentioned that he intended to help those affected and experienced problems. A mediator will be appointed to solve problems and provide compensation to the victims and those who have died.

“I confirm my innocence because I have been building the company for six years and did not think selling products online in this manner is illegal. There are many other companies doing the same thing, I am not the first who thought of and launched this kind of business.

“I have seen senior businessmen grow and succeed in many online businesses,” he said.

Asked if his company’s business, which manufactures and distributes health and beauty supplements, was above board, why did problems crop up recently, Woraphon refused to answer.
