Decomposed body of a woman found, suspected to be kidnapped Chinese student

A DECOMPOSED body of a woman has been found at a garbage dump in Chachoengsao province with police checking whether this is a missing Chinese student who was earlier kidnapped for ransom in Bang Rak area of Bangkok,TV Channel 7 and Thai Rath newspaper said this afternoon (July 13).

The missing Chinese woman was identified as Ms. Yan Ruimin, 38, who is a TikTok star with her friends alerting police that she had disappeared. Her relatives also said that they had received a phone call from her kidnappers demanding 1 million yuan or 5 million baht ransom for her release.

Police investigation revealed that she was living with a Chinese man who had flown to Hong Kong.

Police found traces of blood in Sukhumvit Soi 16 and a purse which was later burnt in Chachoengsao.

At 11.50 a.m. today a police team investigating the kidnapping of this Chinese woman checked a desolate area next to the Wat Pha Tha In road at Bang Phra subdistrict, Chacheongsao city district.

Local residents and volunteers from a foundation used lawn mowers to clear the area until 12.30 p.m. a suspicious black plastic bag was found in the garbage dump weighed down with debris and tiles as well as covered with branches and leaves, around 50 metres from the road.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Nophasilp Poolsawat, deputy chief of the Metropolitan Police, said the spot where this woman’s body was found is consistent with surveillance camera clips that showed the suspect drove a vehicle and parked it on the opposite side of the road in the wee hours of July 3.

After parking the car at 3.45 a.m. he walked to the garbage dump. He later walked back to the car and opened the boot, drove off and U-turned to return to park in front of the garbage dump, with this taking about 39 minutes. He then got out of the car and disappeared.

At  4.48 a.m. the suspect returned to the car and drove to the spot where the purse was burned, staying there for 19 minutes.

In inspecting the black bag police found the decomposed body of a woman with her head and limbs intact.

It was not possible to determine whether the body was that of the kidnapped Chinese student nor how long she had been dead right away. However they found silicone implants on her chest, traces of surgery on her jaw but her teeth were perfect.

Police have sent her body for an autopsy with her DNA to be compared with that of the kidnapped Chinese student’s father and a result is likely in no more than two days.

Once ascertained whether nor not the dead woman is the kidnapped Chinese student police will move to apprehend the suspects. The Chinese student’s father has been informed of this body having been found.

There are measures in place to crackdown on foreign criminals using Thailand as a base  to commit crime, Pol Maj. Gen. Nophasilp said, including entering and leaving the country with police able to trace their movements at all times including coordinating with their home countries.
