British man found hanged after quarrelling with girlfriend

A BRITISH MAN was found hanged at a luxury condominium near Bang Saray beach, Chonburi, after quarrelling with his Thai girlfriend, Naewna newspaper said today (May 28).

Late last night Pol. Lt. Col.  Pattananan Somanwan, an inspector at Sattahip police station, was informed of a foreign man being found dead at this condominium and quickly went there together with Sawang Rojanathamsathan Foundation rescuers.

Within the third floor unit they found the body of Mr. Michael Devalle, 58, hanged in the bathroom with his belt. He had been dead for about 10 hours but no wounds or injury were found on his body which was sent to the Institute of Forensic Science at Police Hospital in Bangkok for autopsy.

The condo caretaker said the deceased man had quarrelled with his Thai girlfriend who left at 3 p.m. that afternoon.

Upon noticing that he had not come down from his unit for a long time, she phoned him but he did not answer.

She then went to the unit and found that it was locked with no one answering upon knocking and calling out, after which she quickly called the authorities to come and check and it was found that he was already dead.

Pol. Lt. Col.  Pattananan Somanwan said they are chasing his girlfriend for questioning and legal action while also informing the British embassy about his death.
