THE THAI embassy in Tel Aviv posted a message on Facebook telling Thais to strictly follow Israeli government’s orders and guidelines while tracking developments after Iran launched over 300 drones and missiles towards Israel but its military said it shot down almost all of them, Naewna newspaper said today (April 14).
The Thai Foreign Ministry expressed concern over the Israeli-Iranian confrontation and warned Thais to consider refraining from travelling to this area.
After Iran’s drone and missile attack the Israeli government had issued safety guidelines from Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11 p.m. till Monday, April 15, 2024 at 11 p.m., especially limiting the number of gatherings in various zones of the country.
Currently there are approximately 28,000 Thais residing in Israel and approximately 300 in Iran. Thai embassies in both countries are in regular contact with the Thai community to update them on the latest developments.
So far there have been no reports of Thais in Israel or Iran being affected by this wave of attack on Israel.
Thailand is extremely concerned about this situation and asks all parties to exercise restraint so as to not make it worse as this would inevitably have an impact on innocent people.
In the event of an emergency, Thais can contact the embassy in both countries to receive urgent assistance as follows:
