A POLICE OFFICER WAS TODAY (Jan.19) arrested shortly after he had allegedly literally delivered speed pills in return for money just outside the police station where he had been stationed in Nakhon Sawan.
The suspected policeman-turned-drug dealer, only identified as Pol.Sec.Lt. Sutthirat, 55, had allegedly literally handed a bag of methamphetamine to another policeman who pretended to look like a drug addict just outside Nong Pling police station in the capital district of the upper central province, police said.
The police officer who was in uniform at the time of his allegedly perpetrating the crime returned to his desk at the police station and looked normal after he had unsuspectingly delivered his drug to the policeman in disguise.
The suspect had allegedly sold his speed pills for 30 baht each. At his department house in the premises of his police station, another 40 speed pills were seized.
The unlikely event was conducted by the anti-narcotics police in the deliver-and-arrest mission to bring the suspect in uniform to justice following hearsay that he had been allegedly involved in drug trade.
