THAI TRADE Representative Naruemon Pinyosinwat was today (Aug 6) named leader of an MP-less Klatham Party.
In a general caucus of the Klatham at a Bangkok hotel, Naruemon was unanimously named leader of the brand-new party with Satchavit Leelavanich being named secretary-general of the party.
Naruemon, a former deputy labour minister and a former government spokesperson, had been earlier attached to the Palang Pracharath under leadership of former deputy prime minister Prawit Wongsuwan.
Meanwhile, Palang Pracharath secretary-general Thammanat Prompao categorically dismissed speculation that he and a dozen Palang Pracharath MPs under his command could possibly skip over to Naruemon’s camp at any time in case that they might possibly be ousted from Prawit’s camp for whatever reason.
Naruemon had been earlier viewed as personally close to both Prawit and Thammanat.
The Klatham is a little-known party which has been rebranded from the Thai Economics to which Thammanat and his protege MPs had earlier been earlier attached for less than half a year before they finally returned to Prawit’s camp.
Satchavit is a former deputy mayor of an urban municipality of Payao, the northern home province of Thammanat’s.
