MOVE FORWARD leader and prime minister candidate Pita Limjaroenrat will be visiting Phuket tomorrow (June 9) to thank the local residents after his party swept all three seats for the island in the May 14 general election, Matichon newspaper said this afternoon (June 8).
Accompanied by Move Forward MP-designates Mr. Somchat Techaworncharoen for Phuket’s district one, Mr. Chalermpong Saengdee for district two, and Mr. Thitikan Thitipruekthikul for district three, as well as other party executives, Pita will first hold talks with the representatives of Phuket’s tourism, education and other private sectors at Deevana Plaza Hotel, Patong.
At 11.30 a.m. he will be giving a thank you speech at a football field in front of Kathu district office followed by a parade and another round of thanks at Chillva market area from 5 p.m. onwards.
This afternoon Pita and members of Move Forward’s anti-corruption working group including Mr. Pakornwut Udompipatsakul, Mr. Rangsiman Rome, Mr. Parit Wacharasindhu, Mr. Worapob Wiriyaroj and Ms. Bencha Saengchantra visited the Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand to get information on this key issue.
Pita said even before he entered politics he had got information from such organisations and after doing so likewise got data from them which he used in no-confidence debates.
At today’s meeting the anti-graft organisation, headed by Mr. Vichien Phongsathorn, will be giving its suggestions on fighting corruption in Thailand, he said.
Currently the public is interested in training courses for police officers and a scandal about covert stickers that indicate that trucks running illegally on the roads had paid bribes to the police and other officials.
