AN INTOXICATED woman hopped on a songthaew bus in Pattaya last night (August 20) and bit off a part of a Thai tourist’s ear and swallowed it, Sanook.com said today.
The attack on the tourist, Mr. Charoen (surname withheld), 55, occurred at 11.30 p.m. at the traffic light intersection in front of Wat Chaimongkol in Nong Prue district, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province.
Police quickly came to apprehend the attacker, identified as Ms. Kannika (surname withheld), 28, from Buriram province, who was in a state of frenzied drunken rage and took her in for interrogation and legal action.
Pol.Maj. Saijai Khamchula, an investigator at Pattaya city police station, later said the attacker was still intoxicated and not coherent but had been detained and initially faced a public nuisance charge.
However Charoen intends to file a complaint against her after undergoing a physical examination.
