Hired gun arrested in 2005 attempted murder case

CRIME SUPPRESSION DIVISION (CSD) police today (Apr. 13) arrested a suspect who had previously been jailed for two murders on the charges of having attempted to kill a fellow student back in 2005, Naewna newspaper said.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Montree Teskan, CSD commander, said Mr. Pornnirand, or Noi, Chansongsang, 41, was charged with “joining others in bodily harming and trying to kill another person” upon being arrested at a house in Nakhon Si Thammarat province.

Police related that in 2005, when the suspect was still a student in Pattanakarn district of Bangkok, he hired two taxis and together with his friends went and shot and seriously injured an opponent in Krathum Baen district of Samut Sakhon province in revenge for a close friend.

After that he and his friends split up and fled but Krathum Baen police had got an arrest warrant issued and recently found out that the suspect was hiding out in Nakhon Si Thammarat province.

Although Pornnirand denied the attempted murder charge, CSD police were convinced they had arrested the right person. They said after fleeing from the attempted murder of a fellow student he had struck again, with this occurring at the wedding of his wife’s relative in Krabi province where he gunned down an opponent.

He had also been hired to kill a local politician in Trang province 2007 after which turned into one of southern region’s top snipers under the professional name “Noi Bang Khan.”

He was arrested and jailed for these two cases but was released in 2015.
