Indian man held in murder of compatriot 

 

AN unidentified Indian man was arrested today (Sept. 1) on the charges of killing and mutilating a fellow countryman and dumping the two parts of his body at different points in Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Soi 17, Sanook.com said.

It is believed that the motive for the murder was revenge over the deceased having informed the Immigration police about him.

At 11 a.m. today Pol. Capt. Pornjet Prommoon, deputy inspection chief at Pratunam Chulalongkorn police station, was informed by a team of policemen from his station  Khlong Luang police station and Immigration Department that they had inspected human remains left in this alley.

They had called in Ruamkatanyu Foundation rescuers and a doctor at Prachathipat Hospital to the crime scene to help with the investigation.

This usually deserted alley that has overgrown reeds on both sides can be reached by many routes.

They first found the lower half of the victim from waist down placed in a red plastic bag and wrapped in a white blanket. 

About 800 metres away they found the upper half of the body placed in a black plastic bag and tied with a yellow rope and again put into a white rice sack.

The victim, later identified as Mr. Mahed, 52, from India, had been hit on the head four times with a solid object.

Khlong Luang police have been able to arrest the unidentified suspect who is also an Indian man and is believed to have killed the victim in vengeance for informing the Immigration Police about him which would lead to him being arrested.
