AN AUSTRIAN body packer who was rushed to Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital from Don Mueang Airport was found to have swallowed 255 methamphetamine pills, Amarin TV said today (June 12).
At around 1 p.m. yesterday police at Huamark station were notified that a foreign patient, identified as Mr. Gantner, 43, was hospitalised after suffering convulsions at the airport with suspicious items found in his body.
A police team then went to this hospital and were told by doctors there that during examination they noticed pink liquid flowing out of his body so they performed a CT scan and spotted a number of round objects in the intestines with one having come out and it looked like drugs.
Later police inspected the pills and confirmed that they were Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine or ya ba). These are a round flat type with the letters WY embossed on them.
At the time the drug was seized and identified the suspect was still unconscious and waiting to undergo surgery.
