OF the national tally of 18,953 Covid cases and 30 deaths today (Feb. 20) 2,690 cases were in Bangkok with Chom Thong district being the hardest hit logging 229, TV Channel 7 said.
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) also mentioned that Chom Thong recorded the highest number of Covid cases over two week.
Of Bangkok’s 2,690 cases today 2,246 were city residents while 444 were transferred to the metropolis from other provinces. At the same time 13 of the capital’s 50 districts had logged a daily total of over 50 cases.
Following Chom Thong in the top-10 worst-hit list are Saphan Sung with 149 cases, Lak Si 92, Huai Khwang 90, Bang Sue 87, Nong Khaem 87, Prawet 85, Lat Krabang 82, Bang Khae 77, and Pom Prap Sattru Phai, 57.
Phra Khanong was the district with the lowest number of cases today reporting only eight and is also the only district logging a single digit total.Â
BMA also revealed that over the past two weeks there were 30,686 cases in the capital with three districts logging over a thousand cases being Chom Thong with 1,357, Sai Mai 1,155 and Pom Prab Satru Phai 1,045 while Samphanthawong had the least total of 193
The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration earlier said that of today’s 18,953 Covid cases 18,770 were domestic while 183 foreign arrivals tested positive.
This takes the cumulative confirmed total since Jan. 1 to 488,880.
Another 13,962 patients were cured while 162,460 are still undergoing treatment.
