Water rockets launched toward Govt House by anti-Prayut street protesters

By Thai Newsroom Reporters

WATER ROCKETS WERE LAUNCHED in the direction of Government House by street activists who resumed protests against Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha today (Sept. 25).

Members of activist group Thalu Fa (Through the Sky) launched the water rockets containing red dye in the direction of Government House whereas others hurled small bags of red dye and threw slingshot pellets and firecrackers toward crowd-control police behind barbed wires.

The water rockets were apparently used as the latest tool of the street protesters in response to the police who used high-pressure water from water cannons and fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse them.

The Thalu Fa members, mostly being adolescents, have sustained street protests to press Prayut to take responsibility for high rates of Covid infection cases and fatalities throughout the country by stepping down.

One banner carried by the Thalu Fa demonstrators says ”Stop Prayut Dynasty” and another says ”No Police No Violence.”

As the street protesters gathered in Yommarat intersection area before marching toward Government House, renegade political activist Thanat Thanakitamnuay delivered a speech to hold Prayut accountable for the police crackdowns on the street protesters.
