A LOVE triangle involving two men, one a Thai and the other Laotian, who both are in a relationship with the same Thai woman who could not decide which one to choose because she loved them both ended with the Thai man stabbing and seriously injuring his Laotian rival, Amarin TV said today (Aug. 11).
Pol. Lt. Yutthapong Surasa, deputy investigating officer of Ban Phaeng police station, Nakhon Phanom province, questioned Mr. Manop (surname withheld), or Bao, 38, after he was arrested for having used a knife to severely injure Mr. Thao Lao, 33, a Laotian national from Bolikhamsai province, Laos, at 5 p.m. yesterday.
Manop admitted to attacking Thao Lao, stating that the Laotian man came to his house in Ban Phaeng district to take his girlfriend, Ms. Kung, 34, away leading to a fight.
He added that he had just got involved with Kung about a week ago.
Before the fight broke out, he and Kung were enjoying a romantic time together with the weather also good for that special moment.
Suddenly Thao Lao showed up and shouted for her to come out, which she did and calmly hopped on a motorcycle and drove away with him.
Manop then followed them to Kung’s house, which is not far from his own, and called the Laotian man to come out.
Thao Lao did so and immediately punched Manop in the face so he used a 48-centimetre-long sharp knife he was carrying to slash Thao Lao in the shoulder and stab him in the left rib cage.
Afterward, he walked back to his house, wiped the blood off the knife with his shirt and pants, and placed it on a chair up front. Shortly afterward, police officers arrived and arrested him.
Reporters from this television station later went to the scene of the crime and found Kung standing in front of her house.
She seemed delirious but calmly related that both men were her boyfriends and she could not choose between them because she liked them both while muttering why did they have to hurt each other.
Kung added that she had been involved with almost every man in the village and that she was addicted to methamphetamine, her go-to drug.
She also admitted that she had not visited Thao Lao in the hospital but wanted the doctors to scan the brains of both her boyfriends to see if there was any love left.
