Couple identifying woman murdered and dumped in trash can

A COUPLE has arrived at Rayong province to identify the body of a woman found murdered and dumped in a trash can to find out whether she is their 18-year-old daughter who has been dating a new man after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend, Amarin TV said this evening (June 18).

Garbage collectors had found the murdered woman’s body in the trash can in an area under the jurisdiction of Klaeng police station in Rayong. Initial examination revealed that she had tattoos on her back and right chest which is crucial in identifying her.

One of the garbage collectors, Mr. Sanya, 52, said his team was shocked to find a human body in the trash can near a plantation.

“Initially, when I came to collect garbage, I got a very strong odor and saw maggots. I thought it was a rotting dog carcass that someone had dumped, because people often dump animal carcasses in trash cans. So, I didn’t think anything of it.

“We shovelled the trash and loaded it onto the truck. During the second round, while preparing the compactor to reload, we discovered that what we thought was a dog was human remains,” he said. “We immediately stopped the truck and notified the authorities.”

Reporters of this TV station went to Na Wang village, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province, after learning that the likely parents of the murdered woman resided there and worked as distributors of products from various shops.

It was learned that they had gone to Klaeng police station in Rayong province to confirm if the deceased woman was their daughter, Ms. Chonthicha, 18, originally from Nakhon Ratchasima province.

Reporters also found out that last November a social media user posted a photo of the missing woman in an attempt to track down a stolen motorcycle. This involved the woman’s former boyfriend with whom she had broken up approximately a year earlier and upon doing so had taken the motorcycle but later returned it.

The missing woman had started dating a new boyfriend in Rayong’s Klaeng district and worked as a vendor.

Police are currently gathering evidence to apprehend the perpetrator while waiting for official confirmation of the deceased woman’s identity by her family.
