Grandma wins hearts by showing up to vote in Phuket

 

A 90-YEAR-OLD woman who showed up at a Phuket polling station to vote in today’s (Feb. 8) general election plus constitutional referendum made all those who were there very happy, Amarin TV.

The unidentified grandmother said after voting at Phuket City Municipality polling station that she had thoroughly researched the election and referendum procedures beforehand, giving her confidence to join the process.

She revealed that despite her declining health, she remained committed to voting in every election, believing it to be a citizen’s duty and a crucial opportunity to participate in shaping the country’s direction. 

Seeing her having to queue up to vote in the constitutional referendum underscored democratic participation across all age groups in this country.

Most people said the voting process was easy to understand and not confusing due to the assistance of officials. Overall, the election atmosphere in Phuket was orderly, with no irregularities observed.
