A ROAD in front of Vajira Hospital caved in at approximately 6.30 a.m. this morning (Sep. 24) and as the huge sinkhole is expanding evacuation of patients and nearby residents has been ordered, Naewna newspaper said.
Fortunately there were no casualties as this stretch of the road collapsed causing two power poles and a forklift truck from Samsen police station to fall into the sinkhole, Phraram Radio Centre 199 said.
Metropolitan Electricity Authority officials have arrived to resolve the problem.
At around 7.15 a.m. residents of nearby flats were notified to evacuate while patients were being quickly moved out.
