AN INDIAN tourist filed a complaint at Pattaya City police station after a group of transgender women hugged him then stole over 25-gramme gold chain worth more than 100,000 baht with police chasing the culprits, Naewna newspaper said today (Sep. 20).
Pol. Lt. Manasak Phonliam, deputy investigation officer at Pattaya City police station, immediately went to the spot on Beach Road where the theft occurred.
At the scene he found the victim, Mr. Rahut (surname not mentioned), 24, in a bad mood but he related that as he and his friends were walking down this road a group of trans women hugged and harassed him in offering sex services.
However he refused and shook them off after which they quickly dispersed. He later realised that they had stolen his gold chain but by then the trans gang had already fled.
Pattaya police questioned the victim in detail again while reviewing surveillance camera clips of nearby areas to track down the thieves.
Meanwhile a Moroccan woman died upon falling from the seventh floor of a well-known hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 13 last night after smoking marijuana with her boyfriend later relating that she had said she wanted to end her life then walked to the swimming pool balcony and plunged to her death.
Upon being alerted of the unidentified 25-year-old woman’s death, a duty officer from Lumpini police station and Ruamkatanyu rescuers immediately went to the hotel.
A hotel worker told the policeman that the Moroccan tourist had hit a metal fence upon falling from the swimming pool floor. She was found lying naked, supine with a wound on her head.
The deceased woman’s boyfriend, who is also from Morocco, said he was sitting and smoking marijuana with a male friend and when his girlfriend also started smoking it she complained that she wanted to die then walked to the swimming pool balcony and jumped down.
When the security guard and lobby staff found her she was no longer breathing. Her body has been sent for a thorough autopsy.
