Hun Sen hit with AI voice cloning attack – denies asking for donation

CAMBODIA’S Senate President Hun Sen posted a message on Facebook today (June 29) that ill-intentioned people had used AI voice impersonation technology to create a video clip wherein he asks for 300 baht TrueMoney donation to develop the Cambodian army for a battle against Thailand with this being fake and he never said so, Amarin TV said this evening.

In this clip shared on Facebook “Hun Sen” said those who transferred 300 baht TrueMoney to him would get 50,000 baht back should he win the battle.

The real Hun Sen said that a Thai scammer had created a fake 29-second video using his image taken during a conversation with a Preah Vihear province civil servant on June 27, 2020 with his cloned voice speaking in Thai.
