THIRTEEN foreign women from Uzbekistan and Uganda were arrested on charges of blatant and aggressive prostitution in Pattaya with all of them blacklisted and deported, TV Channel 7 said today (May 9).
Pol. Lt. Gen. Phanumas Boonnalak, head of the Immigration Bureau, and his team announced that these 13 women, seven from Uzbekistan and six from Uganda with two of the latter having overstayed, were rounded up and taken to Chonburi Immigration office. All of them looked sad and refused to be interviewed.
This followed complaints that there were foreign women standing in a row along Pattaya Beach road who acted aggressively as they offered sex service to tourists walking pass with this being blatant prostitution without fear of the law.
Chonburi Immigration police charged them with harassing people on the street or in public places for the purpose of prostitution with two Uganda women also charged with overstaying. They were then sent to Pattaya police station for blacklisting and deportation.
