RESCUERS working at the unfinished State Audit building which collapsed during the March 28 earthquake saw a light approximately three metres deep in the rubble at 7.30 a.m. this morning (Apr. 11) and are urgently checking for vital signs, Amarin TV said.
Phetkasem Foundation said in a message on Facebook that some rescuers heard the sound of a mobile phone being turned on and off, likely a Samsung handset, and are using a camera to examine and confirm if there are survivors there.
Yesterday rescuers found four more bodies in the huge mound of rubble. One male victim had his ID card with him thus confirming he was a Myanmar citizen with the identities of the other three being verified at the Police Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Science.
Excluding the bodies of four victims brought out yesterday the official death toll stood at 23 with 71 missing.
