KLATHAM MP Pi Lick today (Jan.22) categorically dismissed allegations that he had been clandestinely involved in loan shark business with the help of one of his former girlfriends.
Known as a protégé of former Palang Pracharath secretary-general/former agriculture & cooperatives minister Thammanat Prompao, the MP of Kampaengpet denied he had personally dealt in any informal lending of money as alleged on social media though such illegal business might probably involve his former girlfriend/actress Arisara Thongborisut.
Being an elected lawmaker, Pi said he had received many complaints in regard to loan sharks and maintained that he would not ever get himself involved in such illegal businesses.
The Klatham MP was responding to the allegations that he had been quietly involved in the loan shark business after Arisara had been demanded by an unnamed person who claimed to have worked as a personal secretary to his former girlfriend to pay back a sum of nearly nine million baht in cash which she had allegedly borrowed and used in the illegal lending business.
However, Pi’s ex-girlfriend had earlier said she would return the money to her personal creditor after she had obtained a sizable quota of government lottery tickets allegedly from Thammanat to distribute to agents in the provinces.
But Pi categorically denied Thammanat, head of a clique of 20 renegade MPs who had skipped over from the Palang Pracharath to the Klatham as a current coalition partner, had been by any means involved in the lucrative allocation of government lottery tickets as alleged.
