PRIME Minister Paetongtarn Shinawater and her delegation arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport last evening (Dec. 15) for the seventh annual full-fledged Thai-Malaysian meeting to jointly push forward various projects, especially cooperation in developing border areas, Naewna newspaper and TV Channel 7 said.
Invited by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and welcomed at the airport by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, Paetongtarn and the Malaysian leader will also be promoting trade and investment, connecting transportation to support business and tourism and strengthening security with the aim of obtaining quick tangible results.
Another key project to be promoted during the two-day visit is developing and controlling the quality of Halal food, food technology and plant-based food to live up to Thailand’s nickname as the world’s kitchen.
At the same time, the leaders of the two countries will witness the exchange of MOUs between the Malaysian Rubber Board and the Rubber Authority of Thailand to further develop this industry and boost economic cooperation.
Other MoUs cover cooperation in culture, arts and cultural heritage.
