A SINGAPOREAN tourist holidaying in Phuket died after a massage at a parlour in Phuket late last night (Dec. 7) with a Thai female singer too dying today after a masseuse at a Thai massage parlour in Udon Thani twisted her neck, Amarin TV said.
At 11.05 p.m. Pol. Col. Chalermchai Hirasawat, superintendent at Patong police station, rushed to Patong Hospital emergency room where he found the body of Mr. Lee Mun Tuck lying lifeless on a bed.
No wounds were found on his body with the doctors at this hospital saying after he was sent here from a massage parlour at this beach they did their best to save his life but he later died.
An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of death with the Singaporean embassy contacted to inform his relatives to arrange his funeral.
Meanwhile Ms. Chanida Phraohom, or Phing Chanida, who died today after three massage sessions at a Thai massage parlour in Udon Thani left her with weak arms and legs then bedridden had posted a message on social media relating her experience.
She said that she had gone to this massage parlour for relief from a shoulder pain and after the first session her symptoms were initially normal but after two days her neck started hurting.
She added that she thought it was just normal pain from the massage and took some painkillers but after a week her arms started becoming numb so she went for another massage with the same masseuse in the same room only to have her neck twisted again.
Two weeks later she started getting really bad pain and could not even lie on her back or stomach but as her mother is a masseuse and she had been getting massages from a young age she did not think too much of it putting it down as a side effect of the massage.
She went for a third massage at this parlour and this time a new masseuse treated her, pressing hard and causing bruising and swelling that lasted for a week, and after that she started feeling electric shock on her fingertips followed by her right side turning numb and the numbness getting worse.
She added that this is a lesson for anyone who loves massage.
