TURNING into a social media issue is the circulation of a video clip of three scantily-clad dancers rocking at Plai Bang police station in Nonthaburi with questions raised about the appropriateness of doing so at a government office, Amarin TV said yesterday (Oct. 18).
At 11.30 a.m. reporters of this TV channel went Plai Bang police station to inquire about this dance show with the video clip shared on a Facebook page whose Thai name translates to “If You Want to be Famous We Will Arrange it, Return, Part 7”.
However Pol. Col. Piyawat Patcharanittham, this station’s superintendent, along with Dr. Sittisak Chiawpongpipat, chairman of this station’s committee to inspect and monitor police administration, said the dancers came to use the restroom and filmed themselves dancing there which they then posted at their personal Facebook pages.
Dr. Sittisak said the night before there was a party near this station and as this seldom occurs in this neighbourhood the police station allowed the organisers to use the area next it.
The night duty officer said a singer from Lamyai Haithongkham band came with some dancers to use the station’s restroom which is safe and clean but no one knew they had filmed themselves dancing there until it spread online.
After they saw the video clip they contacted the organisers and scolded them because the dancers were dressed inappropriately. However they added that they could not stop the public from using the station’s restrooms but will be more careful in future.
