A POPULAR Facebook page revealed the background of a conversation in an audio clip which surfaced today (Oct. 14) where the big boss of The iCon Group is allegedly heard lobbing a politician for help over complaints filed by investors who lost money in his direct sales business saying this took place in 2022 and was hushed up with the help of an “angel”, Amarin TV said this evening.
The politician is allegedly heard saying, “(You can) give me more than this, I can do anything, just snap my fingers.” He was also allegedly heard telling Mr. Woratphon Waratvorakul, or Boss Paul, to inform him should he be called by the committee.
This led to netizens trying to guess who the politician is because the voice is familiar.
The Big Green Facebook page posted a picture of a document from the Association of Victims of Share Cases said to have been filed with the Consumer Protection Committee of the Office of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives on May 17, 2022
This followed the lawyer of a group of victims having filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Police Division on May 5, 2022.
However Big Green alleged that Boss Paul lobbied influential people and the matter went quiet with the help of the “angel.”
If action had been taken then many investors who later lost money with some having committed suicide would have been spared.
Earlier today House Speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Mattha said he is assigning the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives to urgently investigate an audio clip where a politician is heard demanding benefits from an executive of the The iCon Group with this being at a House committee level, Naewna newspaper said.
He added that this misdemeanour must be quickly corrected because this kind of a thing has happened two to three times already.
He also mentioned that when the House sets up a committee there are both internal and external members proposed by various parties appointed.
While all such committee members could not be investigated, those identified must be removed from their position to set an example for the future, he added.
