Woman stressed out about debts jumps to her death

A WOMAN who was stressed out about debts and pressured by her creditors to pay up everyday jumped to her death at a high-rise building downtown Bangkok with her body only found 12 hours later today (Mar. 31), TV Channel 7 said.

Pol. Lt. Col. Siriphong Lapanich, an inspector at Thong Lor police station, alerted his chief, Pol. Col. Pansa Amrapitak, upon getting a report of the death of Ms. Ae (pseudonym), 46, and the two of them quickly rushed there accompanied by a forensic officer, a doctor from Chulalongkorn Hospital and Por Teck Tung Foundation rescuers.

Ae was found dead on a second floor balcony with rescuers having difficulty in bringing up her body on a stretcher from this spot.

Investigation revealed that the deceased woman had debts both within the financial system and to loan sharks and was chased by her creditors to pay up everyday.

A surveillance camera clip showed that  Ae,  who worked at a company in this building, had after getting off work at 7.25 p.m. yesterday gone down the elevator to the 12th floor and then climbed and jumped down from a balcony there.
