BRITISH Foreign Minister David Cameron is scheduled to officially visit Thailand tomorrow (Mar. 20) during which the two countries will sign Thailand-UK Strategic Partnership Roadmap, Matichon newspaper said this morning.
The Thai Foreign Ministry said Cameron, a former prime minister, will be paying a courtesy call on Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and also hold talks with Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-nukara to strengthen cooperation in trade and investment, security and defence, technology and innovation, climate change, travel and exchange at the public level.
The important objective of this visit is to officially announce strategic partnership between the two countries.
The foreign ministers of the two countries will sign the Thailand-UK Strategic Partnership Roadmap to promote comprehensive partnership in eight mutually beneficial fields, including: Economy, trade and investment; politics, parliament and multilateralism; security and defence; climate change, energy, green economy and sustainable development; agriculture; digital and other technologies, science and innovation; public health; and people-to-people relations, education and soft power.
Thailand and the United Kingdom have had a close and strong relationship for decades with the two sides scheduled to celebrate the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.
