‘Sukhumvit 11’ hashtag tops X trend in Thailand after Thai, Filipino transvestites clash

AFTER 20 Filipino transvestites attacked two Thai katoeys leading to a large number of the latter gathering in front of a hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 11/1 and later despite police having moved in also bashed up one of the former, this punchup led to #Sukhumvit11 hashtag topping today’s (Mar. 5) X trend in Thailand, Amarin TV said.

By 9.30 a.m. as many as 2.05 million people had read the short post and viewed accompanying video clip of the large number of Thai transvestites milling in front of the hotel where Filipino transvestites are residing.

At 11 p.m. last night Pol. Col. Yingyot Suwanno, superintendent of Lumpini police station, got a report that a big crowd of people calling themselves “Thai ladyboys” had gathered in front of a hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 11/1 and a team quickly rushed there.

The Thai transvestites told police that they were waiting to attack their Filipino counterpart after 20 of them had bashed up two Thai transvestites injuring them. The Filipinos then allegedly posted a video clip with sarcasm-laced comment on various online platforms including those in the Philippines.

They added that they could not tolerate this and had gathered there spontaneously upon finding out.

By 3.30 a.m. more than 10 policemen and a police vehicle had arrived at the scene to escort two Filipino transvestites from the hotel to the police station with the big crowd of Thai transvestites shouting “Thailand” and “get out”.

At 3.50 a.m. a policeman said over a loudhailer that they are about to bring two Filipinos out of the hotel and urged the Thais to not use violence.

However chaos erupted when the first Filipino transvestite was brought out of the hotel with the Thai katoeys throwing bottles at him and then rushed in to further bash him with police unable to control the crowd.

However police were finally able to impose control and took both the Thai transvestites who mounted the attack and the two Filipino transvestites including the one who was injured to the police station but it was not revealed how many had been detained.
