A YOUNG ITALIAN MAN fell to his death from BTS Sanam Pao station in Phaya Thai district at 8 a.m. this morning (Nov. 14) with police rushing to contact the Italian embassy and his family about his demise, TV Channel 7 said.
Phaya Thai police station was alerted by a local resident that a man fell from this station with a team quickly heading there together with Por Tek Tung Foundation rescuers.
At the scene they found the unidentified 34-year-old Italian man dead in the middle of the road and initially it was not known why he had plunged to his death.
This led to a heavy congestion in the area during the morning rush hour with a tailback to Kamphaeng Phet road. Motorists were told to avoid this route and go via Vibhavadi Rangsit road to Victory Monument.
