A LONG-TAIL BOAT taking five tourists on a tour today (May 22) suddenly capsized in Phang Nga Bay after being hit by strong winds and high waves but all the holidaymakers together with the helmsman were rescued by a nearby boat, Naewna newspaper said.
This boat had picked up the tourists at Ban Sam Chong pier in Takua Thung district, Phang Nga, to take them on a pleasure trip but at around 3 p.m. capsized amidst the bad weather.
Another tour boat in the vicinity rescued them and after giving them first aid dropped them off at Surakul pier.
The Phang Nga regional harbour office is investigating this accident.
