Finally, all 64 World Cup matches to watch live on free TV

THAILAND WILL BE FINALLY watching all 64 soccer matches in the Fifa World Cup 2022 live on free TV, a senior official confirmed today (Nov.17).

According to Sports Authority of Thailand Governor Kongsak Yodmanee, all 64 World Cup matches being contested by 32 national teams from around the globe will be broadcast live from the host Qatar for free viewing in Thailand, starting with the upcoming Sunday’s opener until December 18’s final.

The sports agency has reached a final agreement with the Fifa to pay some 1.4 billion baht for a broadcasting licence which had been earlier priced at 1.6 billion baht, the governor said.

In addition to a 600 million baht contribution from the National Broadcasting & Telecommunications Commission, the sports agency has been provided funds from private sponsors including PTT Plc., ThaiBev Plc. and True Corp, he said.

Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan who is in charge of sports affairs earlier commented that only some of the total 64 matches might probably be available to watch live in this country due to the “expensive” Fifa licence.
