Husband, nine-month pregnant wife caught with drugs

A YOUNG Thai couple with the woman nine-month pregnant were arrested in Udon Thani province after police found 1,581 methamphetamine pills and 3.4 grammes of  crystal methamphetamine (Ice) in their possession, Sanook.com said this evening (Sept. 14).

Pol. Col. Kan Tangvijit, superintendent of Ban Phue police station, was tipped off that drugs were going to be sold at a hut in a rubber and cassava plantation and took a team of policemen there to investigate.

At the scene they found Mr. Chakrabongse (surname withheld), 26, and his wife Ms. Sasima, 20, standing next to a pick-up truck parked beside the plantation. Upon searching a backpack carried by Sasima, who started crying when police showed up, they found the drugs packed in six small blue, one pink and two clear plastic bags.

Police said this couple has been taking drugs and selling them for a long time.

Today they had come to the plantation to pay the workers who aside from cash were to be given two meth pills each.

After they tested positive for drugs, Sasima confessed that she has been taking meth pills for a long time and took them even while heavily pregnant with the baby due soon.

They were charged with consuming and selling category one drug and now face further legal action.
