A FACEBOOK page showed photos of a badly flooded underground car park at a condominium in Bang Khen area of Bangkok where floodwater almost reached the sedan’s roof with three vehicles heavily damaged, Sanook.com said this evening (Sept. 11).
The Facebook page, Sai Mai Must Survive, said the flooded vehicles were parked in the second basement parking lot of this condo in Theparak road – Phaholyothin road area yesterday when floodwater gushed in.
Later Mr. Narissorn Saengkaew, a councillor from this district, came to help and initially had contacted the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (PWA) to bring in a pump to drain the floodwater. Many other agencies also came in to help out.
Narissorn said the owners of the three damaged cars had been contacted. Where responsibility for the damage is concerned, this condo has an insurance to cover destruction suffered by co-owners with the vehicle insurance taken out by the owners of the vehicles too covering it.
Regarding government agencies, none has come forth to take responsibility for the damage.
