A BUNCH of tangled communications cables in front of Pheu Thai Party headquarters on New Petchburi road caught fire at 3.17 p.m. today (Nov. 22) leading to heavy traffic congestion both inbound and outbound, INN News and Sanook.com reported.
Firemen from Bangkapi station and Metropolitan Electricity Authority officials quickly rushed to the scene to put out the blaze and restore electricity flow.
That heavy traffic jams built up on both sides of the road was because motorists slowed down to look at the scene after firemen were able to control the blaze.
Meanwhile TV Channel 7 reported that the fire had burnt a large number of cables and had spread to a nearby tree and a second pole. There were also huge plumes of black smoke.
It was initially assumed that a short circuit had triggered the fire.
