Nakhon Si Thammarat – A woman suffering from clinical depression hanged her 11-year-old daughter before hanging herself but the young girl survived after the rope came undone and she screamed for help from neighbours, PostToday reported late afternoon (June 4, 2020).
Pol Capt Paisal Damchan, deputy inspector for investigation at Pak Phanang station, rushed to Bang Phra subdistrict of this southern province after being alert of the death of this woman.
At the scene he found that the 48-year-old woman had used a nylon rope to hang herself from a beam in her house while her 11-year-old daughter was crying as she said “I want to go to my mother.” There were bruises around the young girl’s neck and neighbours consoled her.
Investigation revealed that the deceased woman lived together with her daughter in this house and used ropes to first hang the young girl till she fainted and then herself to death.
However it so happened that the rope around the girl’s neck came loose and she fell to the floor. After she came round and saw that her mother was dead she screamed and rushed out to get help from the neighbours.
Police said this woman’s death clearly stemmed from the clinical depression she suffered from.
