MEMBERS OF THE public were encouraged today (Sep.25) to keep an eye on the upcoming Monday’s (Sep.28) historical phenomenon over the general election held earlier this year to see if it may be judged as null and void by the Constitutional Court, thus automatically, immediately depriving all elected lawmakers and cabinet members of their current statuses.
House Committee on Law, Justice & Human Rights Chair/People’s MP Rangsiman Rome recommended members of the public pay attention to Monday’s historic ruling of the Constitutional Court as to whether the Feb.8 election for MPs will be declared unconstitutional, null and void primarily due to an unprecedented use of a barcode and a QR code on all voting ballots which may have literally compromised the lawful secrecy of the voters.
If the election which landed the Bhumjaithai, core of the current coalition government surreptitiously navigated by de facto party boss Newin Chidchob a landslide victory was judged null and void by court, a new race to parliament would consequently be held for constituents nationwide to pick their MPs again and subsequently for the naming of head of a post-election government and setting up of a new cabinet of ministers to replace the current Bhumjaithai-led government headed by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.
Besides, an eligible voter or a political party would probably file a lawsuit to the Supreme Court via the National Anti-Corruption Commission against the election commissioners on charges of perpetrating misconduct accountable for such a court-denied election in regard to the questionable existence of the barcode and QR code on the voting ballots.
For that reason, the commissioners of the polling agency could possibly be found guilty and sentenced to terms in prison as had been the case following the election in 2006.
