A NEW formula of the narcotic Ecstasy mixed with collagen was found after a suspect was arrested in Nonthaburi with this new mixture distributed at entertainment venues popular with teenagers nationwide, Naewna newspaper said this evening (May 6).
A team from Pak Kret police station had apprehended Mr. Pongsathorn Taengsri, 24, on an arrest warrant issued by Satun Provincial Court and found 281 methamphetamine pills plus 10 rounds of ammunition on him. Further investigation led to the discovery of large amounts of Ecstasy and collagen hidden at a condominium in Pathum Thani with the suspect taken there to point out the hiding places.
Seized were 37 packs of collagen (15 sachets per pack), 350 sachets of Ecstasy mixed with collagen named Maow Jing, one crushing machine, 1.2 kg of Ecstasy, 179 Ecstasy pills, 683.6 grammes of crystal methamphetamine (Ice), 220,668 methamphetamine pills, 65 rounds of .380 calibre ammunition, a weighing scale, and various packaging equipment.
The suspect was charged with possession of a Category 1 narcotic with intent to sell as methamphetamine falls in this top rank.
He confessed that he mixed Ecstasy with collagen to increase the volume then distributed the new formula to agents who sold it at entertainment venues popular with teenagers nationwide. The drug was concealed by packing it in microwave-safe containers with all seized items having been received from Ayutthaya province, temporarily stored in Pathum Thani then packaged and distributed to agents in Nonthaburi.
The police team is expanding investigation to trace the suspect’s network and round up more suspects.
