A PICKUP truck fell into a sinkhole that opened up at on a parallel lane of Rama II road at 6.30 a.m. this morning (Jan. 17) causing a water pipe to burst and flood two of its lanes triggering big traffic congestion on both inbound and outbound directions, Naewna newspaper and FM91 Trafficpro said.
The Army Military Force Facebook page said the road caved in front of Big C hypermarket, behind the overpass near Samut Sakhon Wittayalai School on the outbound side.
Many netizens commented on the frequent accidents on Rama II road, with the latest being a big crane from an overhead construction falling on two pickup trucks and killing the two drivers on Thursday just one day after another big crane at the construction of a high-speed rail bridge fell on a Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani train just as it was passing Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) killing 30 people and injuring dozens others.
Among the comments are the following:
