Anutin – a pilot with mini-fleet of private planes of his own

By Thai Newsroom Reporters

NEWLY-NAMED Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul currently has a mini-fleet of three private aircraft of his own. Yet, it remains to be seen how often he could possibly literally pilot one whilst taking the helm of government.

Apart from his political career dating back to the last three decades, the Bhumjaithai leader-turned-Thailand’s 32nd prime minister has literally not only flown his private planes as a businessperson or a vacationer but as a Samaritan.

Anutin who learned to literally fly light, business aircraft at the age of 45 has piloted his private planes to places in Thailand and several Southeast Asian capitals as well as cross-continental destinations in Europe.

Remarkably, the 59-year-old Anutin has piloted his private planes to voluntarily carry human organs such as hearts for transplants from one hospital to another since the last decade.

The prime minister’s private planes include the Brazilian-made Embraer Legacy 600, a business jet which costs some 550 million baht, can fly an average of 6,000 kms and carry a dozen passengers, the French-made Daher Socata TBM 930, a business turboprop plane which costs some 140 million baht, can cover a 3,300 kms flight and carry six passengers and the US-made Cirrus SR22T, a mini turboprop which costs an estimated 22 million baht, can fly 1,900 kms and carry four passengers.

He reportedly has some 4.4 billion baht assets in his possession, including 700-plus million baht combinedly worth of the trio of his private planes.
