PHEU THAI LEADER PAETONGTARN Shinawatra was today (Feb.21) invited by former Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen to visit the neighbouring country next month.
Hun Sen posted on his Facebook page to confirm he has personally invited Paetongtarn, daughter of de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict on parole Thaksin Shinawatra, to visit Cambodia on March 14 and 15.
At Chan Song Lah house in Bang Phlat district of Bangkok, Paetongtarn joined her father in welcoming their VIP guest from Phnom Penh who appeared to be the first one to visit the de facto Pheu Thai boss since he was granted parole on Sunday.
The former Cambodian prime minister posted online to say his Bangkok trip today has reminded him of a 32-year-long friendship between himself and his host.
Hun Sen added that no political matters have been discussed during his two-hour visit at Thaksin’s home where they lunched together.
Hun Sen flew from Phnom Penh to Bangkok this morning and was due to return the same day.
Police barred news media’s photographers from getting inside Thaksin’s residence whilst taking pictures of automobiles arriving and leaving via an otherwise quiet alley off Charansanitwong road on the Thonburi side of Bangkok.
