Dead wife caught Swiss husband having an affair

A SWISS man who is the second husband of a Thai woman who inherited 13 million baht from her first Swiss husband upon his death in 2021 and had yesterday confessed to strangling her to death was having an affair with another woman, Amarin TV quoted police as saying today (Jan. 30).

Ms. Orathai Posingam, 46, and the suspect who was only identified as Mr. Roland, 53, had moved to Chaliang subdistrict, Khon Buri district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, around two years ago with the suspect’s mistress also having rented a house in the same province.

Police had questioned Roland again yesterday about his wife who had been mysteriously missing since Jan. 8 after her sister, Ms. Thirarat, pointed out that if it were true as claimed by Roland that she had just run away on her own and would soon return on her own, why were her shoes and clothes still at their house.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Ittiphol Achariyapradit, acting police chief, said Roland had confessed that the two of them had quarrelled over her not wanting him to go to Pattaya to seen a friend because she was afraid he would be seeing his mistress and other women there and also over her addiction to gambling.

The suspect had added that he accidentally strangled her then took her body on a motorcycle and dumped it at a cornfield 6km from their home.

However Pol. Lt. Gen. Ittiphol said it is their duty to determine whether the suspect had lied or not with him having allegedly acted alone while the autopsy report was still awaited to find out whether Orathai died from strangulation.

The suspect could have confessed to buy time with there being no eyewitness as he allegedly acted alone. Although he had said he was at home that night a surveillance camera clip showed that he did leave the premises in the middle of the night.

Roland had also this morning asked for his medicine with Thidarat bringing the paperbag in which it was stored to the police station.

There were 12 types of medicine within, mostly painkillers and for treatment of migraine, but one was to treat depression in Parkinson’s patients.
