THE FOREIGN Affairs Ministry said at 11 a.m. today (Oct. 11) that two more Thai workers had died in the Israel-Hamas war raising the death toll to 20 while four more have got injured adding up to 13 hurt in the fighting so far, TV Channel 7 said.
Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, the ministry’s spokesperson, said the Thai embassy in Tel Aviv was last night informed that aside from the additional deaths and injuries of Thais in this war zone, three more have been taken hostage increasing the total number of Thais held captive to 14.
The ministry has also heard that rocket attacks are continuing along the border with Gaza with Hamas fighters still present there.
Meanwhile the total number of Thais who have registered to return home increased to 5,019 while 61 said they will stay on in Israel.
Kanchana added that Hamas has taken approximately 150 people from various countries hostage and it is speculated that these hostages are scattered in various locations.
It is also very difficult to confirm their safety.
