Foreigner filmed stealing money from exchange booth

THE OWNER of a money exchange booth in Pattaya filed a police report about a foreign man stealing a coin box early yesterday morning with the theft captured in surveillance camera clips, Naewna newspaper said this morning (Mar. 25).

Mr. Kiattisak (surname withheld), 36, told Pol. Lt. Thanongsak Inpadung at Pattaya City police station at 3.30 p.m. yesterday that when he came to work at 8 a.m. he found the coin box missing.

By going through surveillance camera clips he saw that at 7 a.m. the unidentified foreign man, around 30-40 years old and well-dressed, had walked over and knocked at the booth’s glass window. When he saw that no one was around he put his hand through a small opening then grabbed the coin box and walked away.

In submitting video clips that clearly show the thief Kiattisak pointed out that the theft had occurred in the middle of Pattaya with lots of tourists and cars passing by.

He urged the police to track down the thief who got away with around 700 to 800 baht.
