PM: No additional ticket sales at the door for New Year countdown events

PRIME Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha today (Dec. 25) ordered strict implementation of measures for holding New Year countdown events and forbade the sale of additional tickets at the door, Thai Rath newspaper said.

Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, said Gen. Prayut emphasised that those organising New Year countdown festivities must strictly implement Covid Free Setting measures.

The number of participants must be determined beforehand through registration and no additional tickets allowed to be sold at the door.

Both the organisers and the participants have to be double jabbed and the latter must show a negative ATK test result before going in.

He also urged people organising social events at their residence to do so in an open area with good ventilation to ward off infection.

Prayut also told relevant agencies, including the Interior and Public Health ministries and the police. to control the situation at the local level because a large population movement is now taking place with people returning to their home provinces.

Assessment has to be made to ensure an adequate number of hospital beds, medical supplies and health workers to take care of patients with home and community quarantine implemented as needed.
