ANOTHER FOUR AIRBUS H225M Caracal helicopters have been delivered to the Thai Air Force, making a fleet of 12 helicopters of this type, according to an Air Force source.
The latest batch of four Airbus multi-role utility helicopters, earlier called Eurocopter EC725, is adding to eight others of the same type earlier procured by the Thai Air Force from the France-based helicopter manufacturing firm.
The Airbus multi-role utility helicopters were primarily designed to serve the Air Force’s search and rescue, combat support and personnel transport missions.
The combat-proven H225M Caracal helicopters are deployed in addition to Bell 412, Bell UH-1H Iroquois and Sikorsky S-92 helicopters at Wing 2 in Lopburi, the source said.
The medium-sized, twin-engine Airbus helicopter is currently deployed by countries around the globe including four Asean states namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
