Pol. Lt. Col. Pingkarat Saikwan, deputy superintendent of Surat Thani Immigration Office, said the suspect had thrown many parties in violation of the provincial coronavirus measures so the team mounted the raid.
He added that the suspect admitted to having thrown many such parties and was going to do so again next week with drugs sold to mainly foreign tourists.
The suspect had also told police that he bought the drugs from a Russian friend in Thailand.
Pol. Lt. Col. Pingkarat also said that the suspect had come to Thailand four years ago and had opened a motorcycle rental shop on Koh Samui as a cover to sell drugs to foreigners.
