PM slams media for playing up fake vaccination allegations

PRIME Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha criticised the media for play up social media comments that the jab he received yesterday (March 16) might just be water or saline solution and not the AstraZeneca vaccine, pointing out that he was ready for a vaccination anytime at all with this depending on doctors’ advise, Voice TV and Sanook.com said.

Speaking at an award ceremony for village health volunteers, Gen. Prayut again raised this issue after the function was over mentioning that he was not angry with the media for running the fake vaccination allegations but would like reporters to not expand on this issue as there was no benefit from doing so.

Gen Prayut also urged the public to be careful during the Songkran festival and continue wearing face masks because a face shield alone cannot protect them. He urged everyone to limit their Songkran activities, not get smashed drunk, and stick to the Thai tradition of paying respect to elders by pouring water on their hands and asking for blessing.

He added that he had received nominations for cabinet portfolios from coalition parties and was right now assessing the candidates’ qualifications before submitting the new cabinet lineup to His Majesty the King for royal approval.
